Scouting is a safe place for kids to try new things and learn on their own. It lets kids explore their interests and learn valuable life skills that schools no longer focus on. From Scouts, they can learn important life skills such as money management, how to be a good citizen, leadership and so much more. They also learn about responsibility and time management as they work through the various ranks at their own pace.
It provides a unique opportunity for kids and teens to unplug from technology and connect with nature.
Scouting helps kids learn valuable communication skills, in addition to teaching skills and values crucial in today's world, such as leadership, teamwork and problem solving.
Scouting instills good morals and values in the Scouts who join. Learning to live by the principals in the Scout Oath and the Scout Law, gives kids a purpose in life that is for the greater good. This is developed while building their confidence in each individual skill they've learned and their developing leadership abilities.
Scouting teaches our youth of today how to be patriotic, how to take care of their community and country, and give back. People rely on Scouts for activities and volunteering. They serve as an example of how upstanding people act and represent themselves, the organization, and their community in a positive way. They are dependable and responsible, showing future colleges and/or employers that they will already have a sense of discipline and leadership skills in later endeavors.
Scouting is a way for teens to have life-changing adventures while also learning so much in the process—not just through the many diverse merit badges but through experiencing teamwork, leadership, and problem-solving.
